"This is how I imagine attending a classical concert 200 years ago; I don't know what to expect and am surprised by new, never-before-heard music." - This is how Tamar Halperin described the classical-techno crossover of the duo THE OHOHOHs.
And the Frankfurter Neue Presse is not short on praise either: "Crossing the border between serious and popular music: The OhOhOhs invent concertante club music."
THE OHOHOHS - We give classical music a beat!
Classical music belongs in the concert hall, club music in the disco, one is high culture, the other serves instincts - the two want to do away with this idea: THE OHOHOHS make Beethoven danceable, mix club bangers with concerto and let the concert hall mutate into a club and the club into a concert hall.
Coming from a techno background, pianist Florian Wäldele and percussionist Florian Dreßler took the not-so-easy path of transferring their electronic music to analog instruments and combining it with classical music: Concertante club music was born!
In the ongoing "classical music crisis" of recent decades, the wonderful music of the old masters should be given back its popular character without trivializing it - and it works: This music appeals to the stomach as well as the head! Their arrangement of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" in "Tempo di Techno" even made it onto the ARD morning show.
THE OHOHOHS play from clubs to techno festivals such as "Fusion" or at art festivals such as the "Kunstfestspiele Herrenhausen". The last highlight was the sold-out Katharinenkirche in Frankfurt with the orchestra project: THE OHOHOHS - Symphonic and the premiere of "Symphony No.1 - Corona Symphony" - the world's first symphony with club beats and synthesizers!
The two will be on tour with orchestra in fall 2024 - accompanying the release of the symphony (start release singles online 23.02.24, vinyl release 26.04.2024).
With a total of over 8,000 followers and almost 50,000 Spotify streams for the last album alone, a dedicated fanbase is already looking forward to this next project from the two masterminds of "concert club music"!
